Where It All Began

Hello, I'm Nick Spooner, one of the founders. I'm pleased to meet you!

In January 2023, I walked every booth at AmericasMart Atlanta and Las Vegas. I did the same at New York Now and Shoppe Object. I've tirelessly repeated these journeys since.

I've talked to and learned from hundreds of Brand owners and Retailers, Sales Agency teams, and their Reps. You're all nice people.
 Thank you again for your kindness, time and insights. I'm endlessly appreciative . (I came from FinTech, where nice people are far and few between).

How do I choose or switch pricing tiers?

Here is a step-by-step guide explaining exactly how you should navigate the pricing tiers to maximize your margins and ensure you are never overpaying as your volume grows. The entire architecture is designed to reward you for scaling by structurally dropping your effective commission rate as your sales increase.

1. Start Here: The Launch Tier
What it is: $0 per month with a 7% commission. When to use it: You should use this tier when you are generating under $10,000 in monthly volume. It is also highly recommended during slower seasonal sales quarters (like Q1 and Q3).
Why: Because there is no fixed monthly subscription fee, you face zero risk and zero fixed overhead. You only pay when you make a sale, which protects your cash flow during slower months.

2. The First Upgrade: The Scale Tier
What it is: $299 per month with a much lower 4% commission. When to do it: You should actively upgrade to this tier in the "migration window" as your volume crosses $10,000 to $15,000 a month, or immediately before your massive peak seasons (Q2 and Q4) begin.
Why: Mathematically, once your volume crosses $10,000, the 4% commission becomes cheaper overall than the 7% Launch tier. Furthermore, upgrading right before your Q2 or Q4 sales double allows you to amortize that fixed $299 fee over a huge volume of orders. For example, during a peak quarter, this can plunge your effective commission rate down to just 6.4%. By switching, you keep your peak season profits instead of being taxed on your success.

3. The Ultimate Goal: The Pro Tier
What it is: $599 per month with an ultra-low 2% commission. When to do it: When you consistently generate $35,000 or more in monthly wholesale GMV. Why: At high volumes, the math heavily favors the lowest possible commission rate. If your Brand scales to $50,000 in monthly GMV, the Pro tier drops your total effective rate to an incredibly low 6.0%. This guarantees you $1,023 in monthly savings ($12,276 annually) compared to staying on the Scale tier.
The Bottom Line: Unlike Faire, which charges a static 15% commission forever regardless of how much you sell, this model explicitly tells you to upgrade your tier to lower your rates. Start for free, upgrade to Scale when you hit $10k+ or before peak seasons hit, and move to Pro when you cross $35k+ to drop your platform costs by up to 67% compared to Faire.

Legacy marketplaces are "free" to join. Why pay a subscription?

Incumbents may be free to list, but it taxes your success by charging a static 15% commission forever. When you factor in their $10 opening-order fees and variable payout penalties, your effective annual rate is actually between 17.9% and 19.6%. Our subscription tiers are designed to mathematically lower your costs as you grow.
For example, if you generate $15,000 in monthly sales, upgrading to our Scale Tier ($299/month, 4% commission) mathematically guarantees you $1,336 in net monthly savings compared to Faire. You aren't just paying a fee; you are buying down your commission rate to keep more of your own money.

Do you charge extra for faster payouts?

No. We believe you shouldn't have to pay a penalty rate just to access your own capital. While Faire's processing fees fluctuate between 1.9% and 3.5% + $0.30 depending on payout speed, we utilize a universally locked, transparent payment processing fee of 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction across all tiers. There are zero hidden transfer fees and zero penalties for accelerated payouts.

How does the 0% direct order policy compare to Faire Direct?

We offer a true 0% marketplace commission on your direct relationships. More importantly, we do not trap you in hidden shipping liabilities. Faire uses the "Insider Partnership" program to force Brands to absorb the shipping costs on 0% commission Faire Direct orders.

How does this pricing protect us during Q4 or peak seasons?

We use Seasonal Arbitrage to let you keep your peak season profits. On Faire, when your sales double during the holidays, the cash they extract from your business doubles right along with it because of their flat 15% rate. With our Scale and Pro tiers, your $299 or $599 monthly fee stays exactly the same. When your order volume surges, that fixed cost is amortized over a much larger volume of sales, meaning your effective commission rate actually plunges to as low as 6.0% to 6.4%.
